Wardrobe 129 - Weird Wild Kratts Dream & Other Stuff

I had a dream about a really weird Wild Kratts. It had real actual live people playing as Wild Kratts team kids. Every one of the criminals were there. They were at a swamp and saw a bunch of crocodiles. And in the middle of the swamp there was a sea dragon and it kept on eating all the crocs. But, he didn't eat the babies, because he wanted to save them to eat them as grown ups. The sea dragon tried to eat the Wild Kratts and they ran into a forest and found a turtle and a squirrel, so they changed their powers into that.
I learned about Ruth yesterday at church. She went to gather grain and there was a guy that owned the field that Ruth went to. His name was Boaz. Naomi was her Mother-In-Law.
They were really poor and Ruth went down to collect corn. I learned what the word "glean" means. It means to gather up what is left after the harvesters come. Ruth and Naomi were good people.
I learned that if we are eating in a group and I touch anything at the serving table, I should take it. So, don't touch it unless you're going to take it! If it's sugary, I need permission from my mom before touching it.

My Lesson About Some of My Dreams

I have had dreams sometimes that are really unpleasant. These dreams are confusing and they are real life situations acted out - ones that I would NOT want to actually have happen to me, ever! I feel like these dreams are actually happening and so I feel the feelings I would if they really were happening. I wake up from these dreams confused and sad. I finally realized a connection, though, about 8 years ago when I had one of these dreams and then someone close to me called a few days later to talk to me and let me know that this exact thing happened to her. I felt like God had given me that dream to let me have a glimpse into how this person must feel in her current situation, so that I can be more empathetic and sympathetic.
This has happened at least 3-4 more times since then. I have chosen to write about this because it is sometimes confusing to me why the Lord would send me these dreams. I know they are a gift, but sometimes, I wonder what I am supposed to do with them, until today. I finally have realized that it's the Lord's way of saying, "Pray for the people going through this situation, and ask if there is anything you need to do because of this dream." Sometimes I think these dreams are warnings for me as well. Warnings to be extra careful and true, and I love it when I catch on to that!
Not all of my unpleasant dreams are ones that have this connection, but some are.

JPL - my dream July 12

So, once upon a time, I was, well, we were at this church house and it was really old, sort of like a Catholic church. I was in the car and then I went back in for something. Then Harley McKenna, said for me to take some books to the library. and this library was like, the professor's in Narnia: Prince Caspian. The library was like mine, but there was only books. And when I came back, my mom and dad had left without me. I decided to get a ride home with the McKenna's. We ended up staying at the church, though for a long time - like 10pm. I was doing history in the library and reading by moonlight. Then I took Dr. Seus books to the nursery. I came into the nursery and there were the two youngest Phipps girls playing a PBS lucky charms kids game. And, then I went into the library and read some more. Then Emily McKenna came and said that she heard police cars. For some reason I was all excited because I thought my parents had finally started to try and find me. And then we came into the church parking lot. There were police lights and a big white van. And then I woke up.

Awesome Gymnast - 1 - July 7

1. Today I practiced making pumps. I learned something from Lukas. So, we get a hose, and then we put it in a bowl of water, we suck the hose for three seconds. Then, the water starts to flow out of the hose. Then you have an empty bowl.
2. I learned how to make a homemade swing. You get some rope, then you tie it to the branch that sticks out from a strong tree. Then you get a board and tie the rope around the middle of it.
3. I learned how to make a mouse trap and that mice don't just stay in the basement. They also go into my traps, in the sink cupboards, and on the counter tops. They can spread disease by their poop and pee, and also from their saliva.
4. I learned that "er" says the 'r' sound and that brewer's yeast flakes is a food that is a high potency food source of b vitamins, protein, and RNA.
5. I learned that DNA stands for deoxyribonucleic acid, and that RNA stands for ribonucleic acid.

I want to know the answer to this question: What if someone took a dead person's DNA and mixed it with my chemical set and put sugar and salt in it and drank it?

JPL - July 7

5 THINGS I LEARNED TODAY
1 I LEARNED WE WERE GOING TO HAVE A LEARNING BLOG
2 I LEARNED THAT ON A HOT DAY, YOU NEED TO DRINK LOTS OF WATER AND HAVE A SWAMP COOLER.
3 I LEARNED THAT WE SHOULD KEEP RECORDS OF OUR PAST BECAUSE IT WILL HELP OUR ANCESTORS AND OUR POSTERITY
4 I LEARNED THAT I SHOULD NOT WAIT UNTIL 15 MINUTES BEFORE GYMNASTICS STARTS TO RECORD WHAT I LEARNED TODAY.
5 AND I AM LEARNING SLOWLY BUT SURELY THAT I LIKE GETTING READY IN THE MORNING.

Wardrobe 129 -1

I went to my first scout camp about a week and a half ago. I was excited about it and it was a lot of fun! I learned how to make a useful camp object. I helped to make it. It was one of those things where you put a tripod on each side of the fire and then you get a big long stick and put it on top of the tripods and then you hang a pot on the stick that is supported by the tripods! I could use this to cook with!
Also recently in scouts, I learned how to cook an omelet by putting all the ingredients in a Ziploc bag and then boiling it until it looks mostly solid. I also learned how to cook bacon and eggs in a paper bag. Lay the bacon nice and neat inside the bag, then crack the eggs into a bowl, scramble them, salt and pepper them and then put them in the bag. Then put it on some coals making sure that the bag is tipped up a bit so that the eggs don't spill out.Take it out when the bacon looks done.

Introduction

I was sitting and checking email when I clicked on a link to a blog that a woman who homeschooled had put together. It looked to me like she had learned a lot over the years and recorded all of her sources and materials and lessons learned. Then I had the thought that doing something like this in our family would be great! I have long wanted to keep a learning journal/progress report of sorts and this seemed like just the thing to do it with! The kids can post their learning goals, and plans to attain them, as well as the learning that happens throughout the journey of it all.
When we record things we learn them and remember them better and they are there for the benefit and learning of others.
In blogging about PPD, I found that it helped me through the next time I went through it. I read through some of the posts and thought, "wow! I am so glad that God inspired me to write about this. I was smart to write all this down!" Now I get to learn form me! Because sometimes we forget that we already learned that lesson!
I am excited to do this and hope that it will be all that I have in mind and more!
